Efforts are going forward at PAI to mobilise help for the more than 400,000 displaced people in Kyrgyzstan. A local coordinator in the Kyrgyz capitol has been recruited and he is working to coordinate the assessment of needs in the area.
The immediate focus of PAI's efforts is to provide some Emergency Health Care kits. These kits are designed by the Wolrd Health Organization and supplied by Action Medeor but must be funded and transported by PAI. Each kit costs $12,000 and can cover 30,000 people's healthcare needs for a month. One donor has already pledged to cover 10% of the cost of each kit purchased.
PAI staff are working with the German government and the airlines to arrange transport for these supplies, but funds are needed to purchase them.
Please consider making a gift to help with this project. PAI is able to accept donations from Europe, the UK and the United States.
