Relief:

PAI is currently running relief programmes in Pakistan, Sudan & Somalia.

Working alongside local staff, our teams use their professional expertise to provide aid for people whose lives are at risk from political conflict and natural disasters. This is often in remote places where the infrastructure has broken down and outside relief is essential.

You don't need years of experience in a war zone and a degree in International Relations to join us. PAI places new recruits alongside experienced field staff to train them as professional relief workers.

Development:

Communities in distress (conflict & disaster) often find themselves in situations where outside intervention requires a long-term perspective for cultural sensitive empowerment, restoration of community and healing of relationships. Therefore PAI does not limit its work to relief but seeks to empower communities for long-term sustainable development.

PAI is currently partnering with local communities in development cooperation in Kosovo, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Yemen, Pakistan, Tajikistan & Indonesia.

Working with local communities PAI field workers use their cultural skills & their language knowledge to implement sustainable development projects - that are impact orientated and focus on a holistic approach.
